Orlando in Florida is often said to be the “Theme Park Capital of the World”, and with good reason too. There’s enough action and excitement here to keep the entire family entertained for months at a time, but only if you have the time to waste!
Of course, most of us don’t, which is why we need to plan our trips carefully to ensure we make the most out of the time we do have available. So, without further ado, here’s our quick list of the best theme parks in Florida.
Disney World
First up is the legendary Disney World, home to no less than four amazing adventure parks, namely Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.
The most famous is Disney’s Magic Kingdom, which offers six different themed areas – Main Street USA, Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Tomorrowland and Fantasyland – where you’ll find classic Disney favorites like the Jungle Cruise and It’s a Small World, as well as all your favorite Disney cartoon characters.
Aquatica Orlando
Next up is Aquatica Orlando, Florida’s most famous water park that incorporates all kinds of crazy slides, an aquarium, a zoo and an amusement park for your family to explore. Aquatica Orlando boasts a mind-blowing 38 slides in total and more than 84,000 acres of park to explore. Our favorite slide is the thrilling Dolphin Plunge, where you slide through a clear tube through the Commerson’s dolphin habitat at breakneck speed. And when you’re done with the water slides and swimming in the pool, you can always rent a private cabanas and chill out in the shade for a few hours.
LEGOLAND Florida
LEGOLAND Florida is the biggest of all the LEGOLAND parks in the world. Boasting more than fifty attractions, rides and shows, this 150 acre park can keep your family busy for days on end. LEGOLAND is a great choice for those with younger children, because many of the attractions are designed for kids aged 2 to 12 years old.
Islands of Adventure
Islands of Adventure is the theme park built by Universal Studios, and the place where kids can get to see their favorite movie characters brought to life. Check out the magical world of Harry Potter and Hogwarts at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, or prepare to be thrilled and terrified by the life-like dinosaurs on the Jurassic Park River Adventure. Head to Seuss Landing to meet your favorite children’s book characters, and then cool off at the Toon Lagoon in the afternoon.
SeaWorld Orlando
The world’s most legendary sea-themed park offers dozens of great attractions including sea lion shows and otters, sharks and more. It’s also home to Shamu, the world’s most famous killer whale, not too mention legions of thrilling water slides, adventure rides and roller coasters.
As you can see, there’s just so many theme parks to choose from in Florida. But be sure to buy Florida park tickets online to save money when you visit. The above listed parks are often sold out months ahead of time, so booking early is the only way to ensure you’re not disappointed.
