The idea of dropping it out of high school is one that should never be encouraged, the best move that you can make when it comes to having a successful career is to study hard at high school and graduate from college. Whilst this may be the best decision that you can take however, there are many who didn’t finish their high school education and bucked the trend that most dropouts make in going on to having hugely successful careers.
If school didn’t agree with you or if you have bigger plans for your career than your education is giving you then here are some inspirational figures whose footsteps you can follow.
TB Joshua
The energetic and passionate pastor and prophet TB Joshua dropped out of high school after just his first year, for many this would mean a career utterly devoid of success, but not Joshua. After leaving school, the pastor worked on a chicken farm and conducted Bible classes for young children before receiving a divine message from heaven to build a church. Joshua heeded that call and set up the Synagogue Church of All Nations, a church which has gone on to inspire millions. The pastor has made fame from his prophecies and the church itself is the reason why 6 out of 10 toasts that head to Nigeria go there. SCOAN is thoroughly modern church and their YouTube channel regularly shows the sermons that take place, theirs is one of the most successful YouTube channels in the World and they have racked up over 170 million views.
Aretha Franklin
At the tender age of 15, Aretha Franklin gave up high school to care for her first child, a move that would be seen by many as a surefire way to find a future of unemployment. Franklin had been considered something of a child prodigy for her incredible singing voice and despite not completing her education, Franklin would go on to become one of the most famous female singers that the World has ever seen. Aretha Franklin has 18 Grammy Awards to her name, she has sang at 3 US Presidential inaugurations and was the first female solo artist to ever be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Quentin Tarantino
Tarantino also dropped out of school at 15, he left to go and take acting classes and work as an usher in a movie theater. Unlike many who have tried and failed at such a career path, the young Quentin spent these years learning his craft and has gone on to rich the loftiest of heights in the film industry. With such hugely popular movies like Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Jackie Brown and Reservoir Dogs under his belt, Tarantino has not only achieved great things in film, he has single handedly reinvented it, created his own original style and is arguably one of the most famous movie directors of all time. Not bad for someone who didn’t finish his education.
